The Continuities of Star Trek

The live-action TV series and movies produced by Star Trek's copyright owners are canon by definition. Until 2009, all canon Star Trek was set in the same timeline (although owing to time travel it was frequently subject to subtle changes). But the continuity is becoming increasingly complex. The Abrams movies explicitly take place in a detached timeline and hence in a new continuity. And although Star Trek Discovery is meant to exist in the same continuity as TOS, this official claim is hard to uphold.

A new article looks at the continuity of Star Trek and how the concept changed over time, from a single timeline to something like a multiverse. The article takes into account the official policy of CBS but also outlines a way to handle reboot series such as Discovery. Note that the purpose of this article is not to discuss whether or not the Abramsverse and Discovery are in contradiction to classic Trek, which I have already done in excruciating detail in several other articles and episode reviews and don't want to rehash here. Regarding the existing continuity issues, there are only summaries.

Read more about how the different series and movies fit in: The Continuities of Star Trek.

We may take on the whole series in future articles. Note that I will wait for the end of the first season until I update any other section of this site with new information from PIC, and that this process will require several months.

2020欧洲杯晋级队伍I bet I'm not the only one that kind of got a Bene Gesserit vibe off of the Quwat Milat. Right down to the fully trained Elnor being relegated to non member status just because he is male, much like Paul Atreides.

2020欧洲杯晋级队伍The device opening up and releasing the visible cloud of radiation was meant to be call back to the Thalaron execution scene in Nemesis, although it doesn't look or work the same way.

2020欧洲杯晋级队伍Personally, I reckon he went with the radiation instead of simply shooting her either because:

    - He couldn't be certain that the first shot would kill or disable her.
    - He didn't have it in him to shoot her. But he could've gotten Narissa to do it.

  • 01 Mar 2020

After reading a few more reviews, it seems they wanted to imply it's thalaron radiation. But if it really wasn't his intention to give her a chance to escape, he must have overestimated the power of the gas cloud that slowly crawls from the cube.

2020欧洲杯晋级队伍A dream of a past experience is much the same as a flashback, and your criticism is inappropriately nitpicky.

I do think the idea of multiple Romulan names was very interesting- in that it feels like it's an homage/adoption of some of the novel concepts from the 70s, where similar 'hidden true name' ideas were batted about, often involving the captured commander from The Enterprise Incident.

I figure they were like "It's her younger, so it still counts." ;-)

The hug was not in the script. suggested we should have some sort of greeting, I said “I’d like to hug you if that’s ok” I kept thinking of my dad who’s been gone some 17 years and what I would do if he were standing in front of me-
